Welcome foolish mortals!

The Hallo'zine is back for it's 4th year and we need your terrifying submissions to make it the best one yet!

As with the previous Hallo'zines, we pick 5 stories from the submissions to make the most varied zine we can. We want Scary. We want Funny. We want Peculiar.

If your story doesn't make it into the printed zine do not worry. All submitted stories will be available in a bumper eBook edition available on the Borrowbox app. Read the last three years eBook editions for inspiration!

Rules & Guidelines

1. All entrants must be 13+, only one short story can be submitted per entrant.
2. The short stories must be Horror themed, suitable for ages 13+, and your own work.
3. You are willing for your story to be included in a free printed zine available from all Sefton libraries and as part of an ebook collection on the Borrowbox app and the possibility of being read out at a library event (don't worry, you won't have to read it.)
4. The story cannot be more 1000 words written and must be a word document (not handwritten).
5. Any artwork/comic strips must be legible when printed A5 size (half the size of A4) and in black and white.
6. Please fill in and submit the application form online and then email your story to crosby.library@sefton.gov.uk as an attached document with the title and your name in the email.
7. If under the age of 18, the permission of a parent or guardian will be required for submission.
8. The closing date is Wednesday 2nd October 2024 at 5pm.
9. All entries are welcome. Selected entries will be included in the physical zine. All submitted stories deemed appropriate will be included in an expanded E-Book version of the zine available on the BorrowBox app.
